"This record is more or less the grief process put to music. I started writing this record in early October 2020 on a destination-less road trip and recording commenced when I returned from the road. All of the songs were first written and recorded for acoustic guitar and vocals but I quickly realized that I needed more textures and sounds to express the music. I am very proud of this album and it's certainly the most personal collection of songs I've ever released but it was a painful process to write and record. It's almost like I was reliving all the horrible events of the past year and half of my life while I was making it and while I think it comes out in the music I can't listen to these songs anymore really. That being said, if someone listens to this record and goes "I identify with what he's saying, I know how that feels and that sucks" then I have done my job as a creative and I can sleep a little less loudly and cold at night. The truth is in the music and that's all I have for you"- Noah Whiteside (September 2021)
